Question by barbie: Is it considered insurance fraud (w/ home protection ins.) make a claim on a dishwasher and not replace it?
My dishwasher went out, I called the home protection insurance they sent a person out he said the washer was broken. Insurance company paid out 7. If I choose not to replace the washer is that fraud?

uh…probably. Most policies require you use the funds to repair or replace the damaged appliance. Anything else they will consider fraud

If you asked them to put a Fraud Alert on your report, it will show up when you pull it. There will be a notation on the actual report saying a Fraud Alert has been attached to your credit info.
