My late wife, a cancer patient, was defrauded by a San Fernando Valley, CA, chiropractor in 2003. He borrowed large sums from her; and also used her credit card, charging over $25,000, using it even after her death. He also increased the credit limit & changed the VISA billing address to his own personal PO box. Police would not prosecute because he signed a Promissory Note, making it ( in LE’s eyes) a “Civil Matter” I’m looking for other victims of this and other chiropractors. I have found one other local victim; an elderly lady, widow of a Korean War Marine veteran. . ADDENDUM This is a W. SF Valley chiroprator, specifically *Woodland Hills*. I want to identify other victims of this dr in order to interest LAPD in filing charges on him. Am also interested in how other victims have dealt with this ( or other) rogue chiropractors. So far I have a Stipulated Judgment (containing the allegations of fraud; ) which ; and the dr has been making most of the required payments. The Calif Bd of Chiro Examiners ( the licensing board ) has dragged its feet for 3 yrs now in spite of professing to expedite the case if fraud is involved.
Sirius Satellite Radio called to offer me a special rate to reactivate my closed account. I coincidentally had my digital camera set up on a tripod and was able to get the conversation on video. The guy on the other end was a little surprised to find out that I had been one of Sirius’ many credit card fraud victims. As explained in the video, I had canceled my Sirius service because of terrible sound quality and their attempt to get me to upgrade to CD quality sound for nearly double the price. Regular FM radio is free and sounds better than Sirius. I see no reason to have to upgrade. The lesson here is to always read your credit card/ATM statements. Most people don’t and companies know that. If you cancel a service or recurring payment document everything. Video record your phone conversations when you cancel. If you cancel online, take screen captures of each step of the process. I recommend FireShot for screen captures.
