@akaast The butterfly effect is a metaphor that encapsulates the concept of sensitive dependence on initial conditions in chaos theory; namely that small differences in the initial condition of a dynamical system may produce large variations in the long term behavior of the system. @camelont688 Yeah, I like to quote wikipedia, too! Still, if you had read the entire wiki article you would know that the butterfly effect isn’t a theory but a visual and/or intellectual illustration of the very abstract idea of cause and effect.
